Why Kenya?

Visiting Kenya Can Transform Your Life.
"I believe there is no sickness of the Heart To Great It Cannot Be Cured by a Dose of Africa."
--John Hemingway, African Journeys

Hi, John Lambert here.
There are 3 things I can do for you:

  • Encourage you to visit this African country
  • Give you information on some of the top destinations and activities.
  • Tell you about the relief work that one organization is Doing there
  • Kenya is

  • Home of the African Safari.

  • a 'wild' range of culture, geography and wildlife

  • The Proving Ground that one person can make a difference.

My friend, Steve, first visited in 2002.

Like many people, he'd never been to a third world country (have you?), or to a country with such beauty, diverse culture and abundant wildlife.

There are many benefits to making the journey.

    Hemingway continues:
"Families must go there to learn why they belong together on this earth, adolescents to discover humility, lovers to plumb old but untried wells of passion, honeymooners to seal marriages with a shared sense of bafflement, those shopworn with life to find a tonic for futility, the aged to recognize a symmetry to twilight. "

So People go for lots of reasons...

Most people go to Kenya to experience a safari.

  • There is the excitement of going on a Safari.

  • You'll Experience the Sights, and Sounds of Africa.

  • You'll see another Culture.

  • Visiting will take you out of your "comfort zone".

It's an opportunity to see the wildlife in a natural setting.

    Others go on mission trips

  • It's a Great Way to See the world and how other people live.
  • It's an Opportunity to touch the lives of others
  • It's a Way to Help others Change their lives.
  • You Can Build Relationships to Last a Lifetime.
  • It can Shatter your Ideas of what is Possible
  • -----------mission trip to visit Kenya orphans------------

If you are Not inclined toward missions you can Go on a Safari,
Buy Coffee, Soapstone Carvings, Sculptures, Pick up some African Art, Live life for a while in another country... another culture

  • it will give you a reference point for Your life
  • It will give you new experiences.
  • See how people in other cultures live.
  • There's a lot you can do and there are MANY reasons to go.

This website gives you some information on Safaris, travel tips, weather,etc...
... but most Specifically on Steve and the work that his organization, Kenya Relief, does.

Before You Go, Read and Learn as much as possible.
Going can be a "Mind Bending" Experience When people return from a safari or a mission trip they have trouble putting their feelings into words...

Regardless of why you go... here are a few thoughts

  • Keep a journal that you can turn into little stories.
  • Don't try and go everywhere and see everything.
  • Take a good camera with a lens cover.

While you're here, take a look at the photos/posters below...
